After a disappointing loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1, the 49ers have added veteran WR Mohamed Sanu from Free Agency. Sanu was cut a few weeks ago from the Patriots roster after they aquired him for a second round pick from Atlanta last year. Sanu will provide depth to a WR room that was without Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk for Week 1.

Could the acqusition mean that one or both of Deebo and Aiyuk will miss an extended period of time? Or are they just looking for more depth to a WR room that could use it anyways? I think it is safe to say that Sanu will probably play a small role in this week’s matchup against the Jets in New York. Look for his role to get larger as the season moves on.
